Planning a podcast/netcast; Martha Bebe Clark & Joanna Martin

Below are my rough notes from our first meeting, taking place at Joannas house. I have an 8 minute recording of the beginning of the conversation also.

  • Accesibility to art (not sugar coating)

  • Building a format slowly and organically

  • Attempting to mix casual and organic conersations budding from pre-chosen topics with organised interviews

  • Keeping our personality and humour clear

  • Networking and planning interviews within our peer group

  • The difficulties of comunicating ideas about visual art into a nonvisual form

  • Being aware and open with our standing in the art world, as we are students, aiming for humble, but not undermining ourselves

  • Making the subjects interlock with our own interests, to narrow the feild of research/ideas whilst simultaneously benifiting our practices

  • Making sure our names are clearly on everything to do with it

  • Learn how copyright works around podcasts/netcasts

  • We swapped a few podcasts we’ve listened to as references for eachother (such as Richard Herring’s podcast and Song Exploder for Hrishikesh Hirway)

This wasn’t a forced idea, but should be a fun challenge both technically and intelectually. Dealing with recording quality, editing, filtering ideas and curation.
