The Nature of Animation in Domestic Enviroments

In surrealist animated shorts, often the location is influenced by budget, control over the enviroment and lighting. Watching animations such as ‘The Flat’ express the clostrophbic elements of the situation.

I am unsure how to express my feelings about the juxtaposition of the pure ‘magic’ of animating stills, the meditative nature of shooting; against the unsettling view of objects moving on their own. The after product is all ways slightly unsavoury as animation is a tool for showing inanimate objects moving…I guess you could say that is the baggage that comes with animation.
