Oxford Dictionary Definition :

”1 Style, artefacts, or traits considered characteristic of the peoples and cultures of Asia.

2 The representation of Asia in a stereotyped way that is regarded as embodying a colonialist attitude.” – Link

”Since the publication of Edward Said‘s in 1978, much academic discourse has used the term “Orientalism” in a more restricted sense, to characterize a perceived patronizing Western attitude towards Eastern societies that is used to justify Western imperialism.” – link
