I find it interesting how uncomfortable the direct address is for the viewer in Vito Acconci’s ‘Theme Song 1973’ and Cinzia Cremona’s ‘Regardless’. Also the comparison between the two, the difference between male and female voice in this scenario. This brought into question what can be done with trying to analyse social media with analytical thought. The solitary figure of persuasion on screen is almost normal to my generation especially. If you grow up watching video bloggers or are involved in any social media, the idea of the persuasion to the subjects life/lives is intoxicating as they try to persuade you of theirs being a better life.
