Humour is key in my work, overblown characters in love through screens, coming out of their respective worlds to commune with each other. Playing with the idea of traditional methods (print) or craft being at odds with the subject matter. Formalising them in this way is an attempt of ingraining them as part of a history. Using a series of visual innuendo with ‘wrong’ colour palettes, contrasting ideas being visually knitted together by the sparkling pink wallpaper.

Using wallpaper and framing the objects like in a front room from the future, a merging of current lifestyles with how we keep a record of the past. A shrine to something held sacred in a different sense.

The method for the prints on either side of the mobile phone was overlaying the lino cuts to create two final prints. They represent two fictional characters heteronormative lovers who are confined, their saint-like style is eluding to the idea of a new religion. A faith in our technological surroundings.

Below: Detail of the animation I made for the center of the piece.

This is a much more realized version of my GIF-ts For Lovers piece that was planned for Bristol.  Taking the initial idea through a different path and creating a new animation for it.

Image below: The phone fell down after the crit, I wanted to document it because it added to the oozing effect. Like a break of the neat structure that I had created.
